![]() We all know that pool maintenance is vital in the summer months in Vegas, but they are just as important when it comes time for the Winter months. Did you know that your pool needs the same care in the winter months as it does in the summer? Otherwise you are going to have staining and other problems with your pool. Most of the damage to a pool happens in the winter when it is being neglected. Trust us, protect your investment! If you neglect your pool, the fix-up will likely be much harder and more expensive than simply maintaining it properly to begin with. People often make the mistake of not caring for their pool in the winter. They stop adding the proper amount of chemicals to the pool in the winter because they think it doesn't need it, or that they don't need to vacuum the pool in the winter because it’s not being used. Failing to maintain proper pool maintenance will result in calcium buildup around the pool and dirty stains along the floor of your pool; this is why consistency is the key! For minimal maintenance, we suggest not covering the pool during the winter, use an automatic pool cleaner that runs the entire time you're filtering, but keep the filter time short. We of course, will keep chlorine in the pool, to oxidize the dust and other debris that the cleaner misses. We will also continue the important step of checking/emptying the skimmer(s) and pump filter baskets on a regular basis. If you prefer to cover your pool during the winter months, we have provided a list of the different types of pool covers in this same section of our website. Your pool should be drained every 3 years in order to keep it operating at the highest level of efficiency. So we suggest that fall and winter months in the Las Vegas Valley are a great time of year to drain your pool and refill it with the proper amount of chemicals. As a Clean Living Pool and Spa customer you will continue to receive the same cleaning and care for your pool that we provide in the summer months.
